Brookline addition
Some additions find the balance between feeling like a part of the existing house and standing apart.
The addition flows seamlessly from the existing house, breathing new life into the home.
Between the slight angle of the property line and the owners’ desire for higher ceiling heights, this addition flows from the existing house to the new with a double-height space that mediates between the two. The brick of the existing facade is celebrated in the atrium space and sophisticated moments of either subtle details or whimsy are framed by a view through a window or exposed when you turn a corner. For a peak at beautiful sunsets, a small wrap-around deck creates a vista to enjoy a quiet moment of beauty.
Fantastic experience working with architect Damon Sidel on our home's gut renovation and new extension! Damon is a great listener and truly designed what we wanted. Our builders also noted how detailed his drawings and designs were which made the process very smooth for them. We love living in our newly redesigned home and were grateful to have a seamless renovation experience thanks to Damon!
